So this last weekend I finally did it, I finally took my first trip to IKEA. The place held up to its reputation of being very BIG for sure and I had so much fun with my Mom and Brother. I can see how overwhelming it can be with mountains and mountains of design and furniture ideas not to mention mountains of people. They were everywhere! But we all survived and have a few souvenirs to show for our visit.
Here is a few shoots of the overwhelming front of the building.
Parker tested out a few of the futons. I really wanted to get one for when I have company over but I just couldn't find one that really worked for me.
Parker of course needed something to show for us dragging him through this monsterous building all day (and with very few complaints I might add.) So after failed attempts to find a superman towel he got excited to see this stuffed animal which mad him very happy when Mom gave the okay for him to get it.
Here are my purchases ready to haul away.
What is it? Its a TV stand and here is the start of assembly, which took a total of 4HRS straight!!! I had no idea it would be that long and for someone like me who has had horrible experiences putting together furniture in the past I'm glad I didn't know ahead of time. Fortunately, I was able to complete this one successfully! Sheesh.....I only had 6 screws left over.
Drawers assembled sucessfully!
TV stand with railings installed.
At last the finished product....pretty nice if you ask me!
Anyone know where these might go??
