Wet and Wild

Last weekend my brother, my sister, my 3 adorable nephews and my Mom and I went to probably the coolest water park that has ever existed, Wet and Wild.  I started going this summer since my house is so close to it but this visit was different. Not only was my Mom and Parker with us but we got to go on some pretty epic rides. I had no idea water parks in AZ were so freaking cool!

Upon arrival Parker and I headed straight for one of the "big kid" rides and holy crap that thing was awesome. They call it Terminal Velocity for a reason, the ride was seriously so fast! It propels you uphill and then drops you down hill and I think I figured out the secret to going extra fast. Just put 200 + lbs of Parker in the front tube and you'll be all set! Who would have thought water slides could be so fun at 30 years old! Haha!

Terminal Velocity

After this ride we hit up the lazy river and the kids zone and then decided to find some more rides. Parker of course needs a little extra help when going on rides and seems to have the uncanny ability to ALWAYS attract attention. Sometimes this is can be a very, very, bad thing like when hes pooped his pants in public. That's a whole different story *sigh.* But sometimes it can actually work to your advantage. Like on this day, when a teenage boy who was watching Parker and I admire a ride from afar, offered for us to cut to the front of the line with him. Really!? Like he totally wanted to ride on the slide with Parker! I didn't know a teenage boy could be so compassionate and intuitive, it was pretty neat. You see everybody needs a brother like mine :)

Rainbow slide

The rainbow slide: As stated before Parker needs a little extra help going down slides. Hes a wobbly man and pretty freaking heavy so it takes a few people to get him in the tubes. Its kinda like a game of twister except imagine trying to manipulate 200 + lbs of dead weight around, its not so easy! Anyways, like the other rides his trusty sisters were there to assist him, so we got it covered right? We slowly but surely make our way up 4 flights of stairs to the top of the rainbow slide, did I mention Parker isn't the fastest stair climber either haha. The lifeguard at the top then gives us the go ahead to get on the ride and with a sister at each side we encouraged Parker to grip the handle bars at the front of the mat and lay stomach first on top of the mat. This of course attracts more attention as we are holding up the line as Parker repeatedly asks, this okay? this okay? Yes, yes Parker, just like you're Superman! Parker then eagerly and with much excitement lays all 200 + lbs of dead weight down on the slide and becomes somewhat stuck. So whats a sister to do? Push him down head first of course! And with that, the last thing I remember seeing is a vision of my brother head first, hands tightly gripping the mat up to his chin, legs straight and stiff as a board, and water spraying up all around him, go sailing and screaming at the top of his lungs into a tunnel of darkness! I don't think I have laughed so hard in a long time! And you know its pretty funny when ever the lifeguard is getting a good chuckle out of the scene. So Torey and I then hurried down the slide as well, and met a very happy and cheering brother down at the bottom,  Parker can be so funny sometimes!

The day continued on with some more rides, swimming and splashing and finished off with a refreshing snow cone. It was a very fun and long day. Here are a few pictures that I was able to get at the beginning of the day.
