THE CHANATE HILL

The ultimate test for any new young driver lies in the midst of Santa Rosa's back roads. This hill was known by all to be dreaded when learning how to drive a stick shift. If you were so lucky to one day master the e brake trick your prize was great and admired by many. The title of finally becoming primed and proficient in the motor vehicle world. What makes this the hill of all hills to conquer was not necessarily the angle of incline but that in combination with a particularly placed stoplight adoring the top. Timing was everything when taking on this giant. Too soon and light might still be red. Too late and your opportune green light moment will have passed you by.

Here's the dreaded road with your hill straight ahead.

Getting closer....still cant see what color the light is at the top.

A quick peak at the best croissant shop around....
and then its back to focusing on the task at hand.

AHHH.....a red light!!!! What to do?????
Hmmmm......I bet Carrie would know what to do in this situation:)

  1. Thanks for the awesome picture Piper. Seeing Chanate hill still makes my heart beat fast. Luckily, there is the "escape route" when the Red Light is on. Just bang a quick right and drive around (and around and around) the block until it's green again!
