It all started with this:

Which turned into this:
(I shouldn't even give this disclaimer but...this picture doesn't even do my terrible awfully bright brassy bleached yellow hair color job the atrocious justice it deserved. It was far more shocking and VERY unnatural looking. When you walk around the corner and your Mom and Dad burst into laughter, then you know its got to be pretty bad.)
(and I can't neglect the cheetah spots I had all over the back.)And made me feel like this:

So I bought some of this:

And used it like this:

And it turned into this:
(Note the purple/gray tones through the ends oy!)
(and the purple/gray/yellow tones in the front. Hence that toning shampoo didn't really work. Or more likely I didn't use it right, oops.)So with a little more of this:

It turned out like this:
And its still nowhere near what the box color looked like ugh. The stylist said I would need 1-2 more treatments to get it truly back to something you could call natural. So to put it simply...the man stuck it to me, and furthermore I would not recommend doing what I did and pick a box off the shelf with no prior hair knowledge or experience and apply it. Most likely you'll pick the wrong color and put it on the wrong way, for the wrong amount of time. Then you'll pick the wrong toner, mix it up the wrong way, apply it to the wrong parts and leave it in for the wrong amount of time. I sure did a lot of things in the not so right kind of way, but BOY have I learned A LOT about hair. There's porous parts, heat activations times, voluminizers, toners, semi permanent dyes, permanent dyes, bleaches, base colors, de-brassing shampoos and much much more. I've decided to let it rest from this trauma for a few months, and then in the Winter I'm going Brunette;) It's still negotiable though.
