Close Encounter Of The Serpent kind

Mother Nature has struck me with yet another close encounter. This time it was probably my worst fear come to fruition. It happened out at the barn. A normally peaceful place for me to go and unwind or enjoy a nice evening with my boy. I had just gotten Spark out of his paddock and proceeded to walk him through a narrow trail past the other horses pens. His neighbor (Indy) was obviously a little territorial and as we walked by, Indy proceeded to lunge out, ears pinned back and teeth gnashing ready to bite Sparks innocent hide. I immediately gave my attention to fending Indy off only to be left with a scene of horror as I turned back around towards our goal destination. As my gaze peered down a HUGE snake was there in the mists of slithering through Sparks and my legs! AHHHHHHH!!!!!! What followed is a bit blurry but suffice it to say it included several screams followed by some heart pumping, wind sucking, skitter scattering leaps and jumps (which I'm sure were nowhere near graceful, whether by me or Sparks.) We were fortunate enough to make it out unharmed, sigh:) However, our menacing friend is still at large. He was last seen slithering (and hissing I might add) into a clay overturned pot.

Description: Big, Long ~6ft, and fat with green and brown spots. With a little researched I picked 2 snake species that were close to what I saw. I'll let you decide which one you like best.

#1. The Gophersnake: non-venomous, big, kills mice/gophers:)

#2. The Mohave Rattlesnake: venomous, big, kills humans:(

K there is more to those descriptions than that but the main idea is.....similar in looks, but one is mucho mucho poisonous and the other...nada. Hence I've come to the conclusion that me and Mrs. Nature are not exactly seeing eye to eye. Don't get me wrong, I love animals, but a girl can only take so much emotional stress. So I'm taking legal action and was first leaning towards a lawsuit against Mrs. Mother Nature. However, I've decided to show my compassionate side and go easy with issuing a restraining order. Mother Nature you've been served!
